RI President Riseley is asking Rotary members to work together to advance the tradition of Rotary: Making a Difference in 2017-18. He is challenging all 1.2 million Rotarians to simply plant a tree before Earth Day on 22 April 2018. The Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group has compiled inspirational ideas and helpful tips to aid clubs in meeting the challenge.

For ideas and tree-planting advice, see the Environmental Sustainability Rotarian Action Group or download their "1.2 million tree planting" brochure.

Clubs can also consider working with the Food Plant Solutions Rotarian Action Group to identify edible plants with the greatest nutritional value for the region where you wish to plant trees. The group can help your club and district understand the connection between plant selection and nutrition, while meeting Riseley’s tree-planting challenge.

Clubs can plant a tree for each member and share on Rotary Showcase under the Environment category and share stories online using #pledgetoplant.
